Solar House for a Handicapped Veteran - Bernardsville, New Jersey
Commissioned by a couple, one of whom was handicapped, this solar house was planned in accordance with Veteran's Administration standards. The topography and zoning setback requirements made the best orientation (due south) impossible. As a result, the house was turned 20 degrees west of south and he plan faces all rooms and most glass areas to the south. An important feature is the sunspace which serves an additional eating area and green zone and can be closed off when it radiates more heat than it gains.
