The wooded site slopes gently to the south and the first view of the house is from a winding downhill drive. The fist glimpse of the house shows a bowed front with a curved colonnade and covered entrance. A few steps lead down from the entrance to an atrium which is the focus of the house. A continuous skylight illuminates the walls of this room.
