Sagaponack House - Sagaponack, New York
The site for this house was a lot in the corner of a potato field. The design
recognized this by clustering small shed and gabled units around a large deck open to the
ocean view to the south, and the setting sun to the west.
Elevations present largely closed facades to the roads on the north and east, while
skylights over the kitchen provide light and expand the space in that direction from the living area.
The articulation of the plan into separate units reflects the spatial organization and also gives
the relatively small house a larger scale in the wide expanse of the surrounding fields.
