The client wanted to incorporate solar gain into their house, and called on the architects after seeing a passive solar design of ours that had been published. The clients requested that the house shape and the spaces within be traditional. The site posed a special problem since the pool room, required a southern exposure for passive solar gain, but the site presented a lovely view to the west over the pond. The plan is an open scheme on the main level, featuring the kitchen and a three-sided fireplace designed to be viewed from the study, living room, kitchen, and entry.
