Lee's Art Shop - Manhattan, New York
The owner of this successful art supplies shop decided to expand his retail space tenfold and bought a handsome Gothic-Revival-style building nearby.
The new space had vaulted-ceilings and ornamental plasterwork. To preserve this setting, the architects devised an open plan scheme that allows shoppers to browse among the merchandise which is grouped into three departments – framing, fine arts, and commercial.
In this opened-up space, pipe scaffolding is used to hang lights, sign, and colorful graphics and the store combines elegance and modern display techniques.
