The owner of an existing salon wanted to expand his salon to a new location, on a busy highway. The existing building, a former restaurant, was dilapidated but was existing per code and the exterior walls went to be kept and modernized. The architect designed a surrounding envelope to enclose the buildings with a "green" zone, enhanced by a louvered sunscreen that blankandblanks the existing building. The existing walls will be clad, and climate controlled while expanding the facility upward with two additional floors.
